Kacey Larsen

Larsen is a recent graduate from The University of Iowa, with bachelor’s degrees in both English and Journalism. She wrote an English Honors Thesis on the life and work of the poet Walt Whitman. Through her work as a Journalism student, Larsen has a special interest in current First Amendment issues. She currently resides in Chicago, IL.

 Stacy A. Paschoal

Paschoal is a guest blogger for the National Museum of Crime and Punishment.  She has a degree in Criminal Justice; a Certificate in Advanced Applied Forensic Science from California State University – Fullerton; and a Certificate in Forensic Technology from Grossmont College.  She is currently employed as a full-time Forensic Specialist with the Santa Ana Police Department located in Southern California. She is a member of the Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers (SCAFO) and one of the founding members of the Orange County Forensic Investigators Association (OCFIA). She and her husband, Mike, enjoy time with Pepper, their two-year old Dachshund, and spending time with family and friends.

Ashling Gabig

Ashling is a soon to be graduate from California State University Los Angeles with her second baccalaureate in Biology and Criminal Justice.  She has a degree from UC Riverside in Psychology and Religious Studies, and is certified from the same university in Crime Scene Investigation and Crime and Intelligence Analysis.  Ashling has spent several years working in law enforcement as a Community Service Officer for Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and as a Crime Scene Investigator for El Segundo PD.  She is currently an intern at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Hertzberg-Davis Forensic Science Center in their Biology, Questioned Documents, and Trace Evidence Units.  She hopes to gain employment with a law enforcement agency soon after graduation, and will continue her education by completing a Master’s degree in Forensic Science.  Her hobbies include long distance running, crafting and cake decorating, and traveling.  Ashling and her boyfriend have a long term goal of visiting every state in the U.S., and as many countries in the world as possible.
