Besides our MUST SEE museum - The Crime Museum - we have put together a list of other places to visit in DC- LOCAL Style.

This list includes areas that are not part of the usual suspects, but rather some hidden treasures amongst a city known for The Smithsonian Museums and Federal Buildings.

Resources to Make Your DC Stay Easy

DC Metro
The subway system in DC is generally safe and clean and easy to navigate. Please note that you need the metro card to enter AND exit the subway system- so make sure you keep your card handy. The card demagnetizes easily, so please keep it away from your cell phone.

Airports
Domestic: Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the most convenient airport into the DC area and it is metro accessible. If you prefer a taxi, it's about $20 into DC.* International: Dulles International Airport (IAD) is located about 50 minutes outside of Washington DC. There is not a metro station there but you can get shuttles into DC or a taxi ride is about $75.* Baltimore International Airport (BWI) is located about 50 minutes outside of Washington DC. Amtrak Trains are available from this airport or taxi's into DC are about $95.* *Taxi fares vary by location and traffic. For a more accurate estimate, please refer to Taxi Fare Finder (link).
