Learn about the state-of-the-art techniques used by modern law enforcement to match criminals to crimes through evidence found at the scene. Join our team of experts who will guide you through exhibits and lab activities to show you the real science behind CSI, and take you step-by-step through the collection, examination, and analysis of forensic evidence. These highly interactive workshops will place the investigator's tools in your hands and teach you the tricks to solve the crime. With a wide range of topics to discover, you'll keep coming back for more.

Impressions Workshop: Learn how to collect fingerprints and shoeprints and then the methods used to match them to suspects.

Blood & DNA Workshop: Learn how to make sense of blood spatter patterns, locate hidden or cleaned-up blood, and match DNA profiles.

Catch Me If You Can - Frauds & Forgeries Workshop: Learn how to detect check fraud and read destroyed robbery notes using high tech alternate lighting techniques. Find out how to read invisible writing and how to detect fake identification and fraudulent passports.

Forensic Lab - The Total CSI Experience: Learn how forensics really works by experiencing this multi-station lab that demonstrates blood spatter, bitemark analysis, fingerprint collection, toolmark evidence and more with forensic scientists demonstrating forensic techniques. This lab does not limit your interaction to a specific time frame, you can experience forensics and crime solving techniques at your own pace.

Activities and content are appropriate for visitors of all ages. Workshops are held in the NMCP and last for one hour. You must purchase an admission ticket in order to attend the workshop. Tickets may not be available online until 2 weeks prior to the workshop date. Please check back for availability.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the workshop. Tickets are not refundable if the patron arrives late or fails to attend the workshop. The NMCP reserves the right to cancel or change workshops at any time; should this occur, we will do our best to contact you promptly to inform you of refund or exchange procedures.
